We're not your average corporate co-working space, we're very big on community at Hatcham House. That's why we work to support local people, local businesses and local charities. Read below to see what we are currently doing and how we are working to serve our local communities.
Working with Lewisham Homes
Given the success of our last partnership with a local housing organisation we knew it was important to carry on supporting local residents, particularly those in difficult living situations. Over the next 4 months we are working with Lewisham Homes to provide free membership spaces to some of their residents in temporary accommodation and hostels.
Being at home is tough for some people and given the restrictions due to COVID over the last year, we have all had to spend a lot more time at home. Providing our members with a local, welcoming and safe environment to work from has proved extremely beneficial for their mental wellbeing.
We can also offer support to these residents in the form of our mentoring and coaching services should they benefit from it.
Working with Hyde Foundation
We worked with Hyde Foundation over a 4 month period September-December 2020 to provide free membership spaces to Hyde residents in the Lewisham borough. We realise that not everyone has the luxury of a home office, for most, small, cramped accommodation and busy households is the norm. We also know that to be able to afford membership to these kinds of work spaces can be a luxury, even where we have tried to make it as affordable and accessible as possible. Working with Hyde allowed us to support some of their residents with a free membership at Hatcham House for 4 months.
Hyde foundation also funded 'SEED' a project ran at Hatcham House by 3 young HH members, supporting young adults who are facing unemployment or struggling to find work and make decisions about their future. Overall they did a series of 7 online videos reaching over 1000 viewers. Find out more about the project and watch the videos here: @seed.workshops
Supporting local charities
Central Southwark Community Hub are very close to our heart. They do amazing work in the borough of Southwark across London, providing support to local people and families who are struggling, through a range of services including a food bank, holiday clubs and community cafe.
Our art exhibition by Sara Willett raised over £1,500 for the CSCH.
